Wolf, John A. (1 Mar. 1887 - 25 Mar. 1960)

John A. Wolf of the town of Colby, Wisconsin died Friday evening in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, at the age of 73 years. Funeral services were conducted in St. Mary’s Catholic church Tuesday morning, Rev. John Pinion officiating, and internment was made in the parish cemetery. Pall bearers were Herbert Firnstahl, Joe Schuster, Louis Jakel, William Hackel, Elroy Gutenberger and Roy Langteau.

Mr. Wolf was born in Marshfield on March 1, 1887, and attended St. John’s Catholic School there. He married Anna Tesmer at Colby on June 8, 1921. They farmed in the town of Colby the past 29 years. He was a member of the Holy Name Society and the Catholic Order of Foresters. He was well known for his fine Christian character and industrial disposition, and, being of a friendly and pleasant disposition, was well-liked by all who knew him.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Vernon Wolf of Burlington and Norbert Wolf of Colby; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Marie) Peterson of Tomah and Miss Celia Wolf of Colby; 14 grand children; two sisters, Mrs. Madeline Seymour and Mrs. Chet Lindsey of Marshfield; two brothers, Joseph Wolf of Greenwood and Andrew Wolf of Chili. One brother and four sisters preceded him in death.
