Briski, Theodore #2 (3 NOV 1927 - 17 JAN 2009)

Theodore "Ted" Briski, 81, Greenwood, died on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, at the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood. Rev. Robert Olson officiated. Burial followed in the Greenwood City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Larry Briski, Dan Briski, Steve Briski, Jeff Fredricksen, Ray McDonald, and Tom Scherer.

Theodore Briski was born on Nov. 3, 1927, on the family farm, rural Greenwood, to Matthew and Katherina (nee Zagar) Briski. He was raised on the farm and received his education at Maple Ridge country school. As a young man, he went to work at Midland Cooperative, before being drafted into the U.S. Army and serving two years during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge, he came back to Greenwood and continued working at Midland Cooperative. He married Vivian Langfeldt on Aug. 29, 1953, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in the town of South Green Grove. He worked at Midland Cooperative for 40 years in the service station and feed mill, delivering fuel and feed to area farmers. He was a member of the Greenwood American Legion Post #238, and had many interests, but especially enjoyed hunting, fishing and metal detecting, finding many interesting items.

Survivors include his wife, Vivian, Greenwood; three sons, Larry (Sue) Briski, Chippewa Falls, Dan (Nancy) Briski, Green Bay, and Steve (Sandy) Briski, Fitchburg; three daughters, Doreen (Jeff) Fredricksen, Greendale, Ruth (Ray) McDonald, West Bend, and Andrea (Tom) Scherer, Muskego; 15 grandchildren; five sisters, Julia Vivoda, Florida, Katherine Gulczynski, Minneapolis, Minn., Angeline Gulczynski, Greenwood; Rose Malaszuk, Greenwood, and Dorothy Lendosky, Greenwood; two brothers, Robert (Taimi) Briski, Greenwood, and John (Florence) Briski, Greenwood; one sister-in-law, Della Briski, Altoona; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers, Matt Briski, Tony Briski, Frank Briski, and Albert Briski; and two sisters, Mary Malnar and Elizabeth Stimac.
