Schultz, Marvelin R. (Marriage - 4 September 1950)

Miss Marvelin R. Schultz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Helmuth Schultz, became the bride of George Van Tatenhove, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Van Tatenhove, 921 16th St. Racine, Wis., at a ceremony performed in Zion Reformed Church on Monday, September 4, at 2 o’clock. Vows were exchanged before an altar banked with baskets of gladioli. The Rev. William Koehler officiated at the double-ring ceremony.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was dressed in a wine colored suit. She wore an orchid corsage, Miss Margie De Mert, her maid of honor, was also dressed in a suit.

The groom’s brother, Chris Van Tatenhove, Jr., acted as best man.

A reception for immediate relatives and friends was held at the home of the bride’s parents. The house was tastefully decorated with pink and white streamers, wedding bells and many bouquets of garden flowers.

After September 11 the newlyweds will be at home at Racine. The bride was graduated from Neillsville High School with the class of ’50, and has been employed at Racine. The groom is also employed at Racine.

The groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Van Tatenhove and family of Racine, and Miss Marilyn Seelof of Eau Clarie attended the wedding.
