Morrow, Mary E. (18 JAN 1867 - 9 JUL 1944)

Mary Ellen Morrow died on Sunday, July 9, at 12:40 a.m. at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Morrow, at Abbotsford, Wis. She had been an invalid for several years. The cause of her death was gangrene resulting from diabetes.

Mary Ellen Kennedy was born on Jan. 18, 1867, at Mosinee. At the time of her death she was 77 years, six months and 21 days old. She had for a time before her marriage taught school at Wausau.

On May 5, 1889, she was married to Joseph Morrow at Halder. Before moving to Abbotsford 10 years ago the family lived on a farm in the town of Beaver for 41 years.

Mrs. Morrow was a kind and loving neighbor. She liked to visit the old neighborhood whenever she had a chance.

Funeral services were conducted at 9 a.m. July 12 at the Zink funeral home in Abbotsford, the Rev. Francis Brockman officiating. She was laid to rest beside her husband in the Abbotsford cemetery.

Pallbearers were John Shepshick, John Brandt, William Bogaard, Daniel Vandehey, George Lundahl and James Vandehey.

She leaves to mourn her loss three sons, Carl and Roy Morrow of Milwaukee and James Morrow of Colby, also one sister, Mrs., James Vandehey, of Abbotsford and a brother, Martin Kennedy, of Ingram, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild, and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, four sisters and one brother.

Mr. and Mrs. Morrow had celebrated their golden wedding on May 5, 1939.

Relatives from away attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Martin Kennedy, Mrs. Charles Russell and Mrs. Paul Krisik and son, Paul, all of Ingram; Mrs. William Farmer of Wausau; Mrs. Martin Schrieber, Mrs. Frank Stack and daughter and Mrs. Margaret Maquire, all of Mosinee; Mrs. Noel Schelling and Grant Vandehey of Chicago; Mrs. Adonis Delberto and daughter of Iron Mountain, Mich., and Mr. and Mrs. James Hayes of Stratford. Out of town friends attending included Mr. and Mrs. William Schultz of Loyal and Mr. and Mrs. John Brandt and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Brandt and family of Greenwood.

The Tribune adds its sympathy to that of friends and neighbors to the bereaved relatives.
