Bratz, Walter & Anna (25th - 23 APR 1950)

A reception honoring Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bratz of Worden (Clark Co., Wis.) on the 25th anniversary of their marriage was attended by 200 friends and relatives on Sunday afternoon, April 23rd, 1950. It was held in the parlor of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Stanley. After a program appropriate to the occasion, the Eidsvold Ladies Aid served a sumptuous buffet lunch, Mrs. J. N. Midtlien poured.

Rev. J. N. Midtlien acted as toastmaster. The honored couple were presented with many gifts in memory of the occasion for which they expressed their appreciation.

Mrs. Bratz greeted the guests in a grey green silk dress with a corsage of roses tied with a silver ribbon.

Miss Anna Lee and Walter Bratz were married by the Rev. John Granskow at the Lutheran Parsonage in Stanley on April 23rd, 1925.

Miss Edith Lee, sister of the bride, and Frank Bratz, brother of the groom, acted as attendants. Both were present at the reception.

Four children, Mrs. Richard (Beatrice) Shilts of Stanley, Donald at home, Dorothy employed at the Thorp Finance and Ruth employed at Milwaukee, were born to them. There is one grandchild, Dirkie Shilts.

Among those attending from out of town were: Mrs. and Mrs. Alfred Anderson and daughters Ardith and Lynn, of Tower, Minn., Mrs. Carrie Schmidt of California, Mrs. Nora Wold of Ravillio, S.D., Mrs. Glenweye Freimund and daughter Janlee of Plymouth, Wis.; Miss Paul Lee and Ruth Bratz of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Bratz of Kiel, Wis., as well as many from the surrounding Thorp vicinity.
