Chili (25 February 1971)

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Ziegler and daughter of Wisconsin Rapids were afternoon and supper guests Sunday at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Ziegler.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Schlinsog and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Bartsch visited Mrs. Ruth Lindow at Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids Sunday afternoon.

Sunday evening visitors at the Ed Schlinsog home were Mr. and Mrs. Willard Becherer.

The Chili Homemakers were to meet Tuesday evening at the Alma and Elda Happe home. Mrs. Lloyd McCormick was to present the project.

Mr. and Mrs. Werner Doehr visited with his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Doehr, in Milladore on Friday.

Mrs. Lyle Doehr returned home Saturday from St. Josephs Hospital in Marshfield where she had been a surgical patient. The Doehr’s daughter, and grandson, Mrs. Dan Metko and Troy, spent a couple days at the Doehr home last week.

The Chili 4-H club is sponsoring an American Field Service Night to be held Thursday, March 11 at 8 p.m. in the East Fremont School. All proceeds will go to the Joe Pietrek Memorial Fund. Connie and Ronne Schelling are in charge of the program. Further details will be announced later.

Members of Christ Lutheran Ladies Aid met Friday afternoon at the church with Mrs. Norman Faber as hostess. The Rev. Roland Roehrs led the Bible study. A number of appropriate hymns were sung along with the Bible study, which also included group participation.

Six member of the group were honored for having February birthdays. They are Geneva Steffen, Doris Lovstad, Gladys Menger, Beatrice Bartsch, Verna Roehl, and Martha Lewin.
