Rose Mary Patricia Byrnes, daughter of Postmaster and Mrs. Lester M. Byrnes of 622 Dow Av., Rhinelander, Wis., and Gerald A. Herman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Herman of Thorp (Clark Co.), Wis., were united in marriage on Dec. 27, 1950 at Rhinelander, Wis. by the Rev. Arthur Skank.

The bride was attired in a white slipper satin dress fashioned with off the shoulder neckline edged in pearls and lace, with a low styled bodiced full skirt ending in a train, and long painted sleeves, fingertip veil with a pearl tiara. Her cascade bouquet was made up of white carnations centered with sweetheart roses edged with ivy.

The bride’s attendants were, as first bridesmaid, Coleen Herman of Thorp, sister-in-law of the groom, who wore a gloder rust velveteen fashioned with a low waist, full skirt and cap sleeves. Maid of honor, cousin of the bride was Marion Cloutier of Rhinelander, attired in azure blue gown Chantilly lace top, fashioned with Mondorin collar and a peplum at waist blue satin skirt. Second bridesmaid was Alvera Schmidt of Thorp, attired in rust velveteen fashioned same as first bridesmaid and all wore ivory white flower head wreath and white short gloves, bridesmaid bouquets were nosejays of white and yellow mums tied with rainbow colored ribbons.

The groom and his best man, Robert Herman, wore tuxedos, as did the ring bearer Tommy Misfeldt, nephew of the groom, other grooms attendants were Richie Polnaszek and Duane Jacques of Thorp, who were also dressed in tuxedos.

Ushers were George Malz of Rhinelander, uncle of the bride, and Frank Kowieski of Chicago, brother-in-law of the groom.

Mrs. Byrnes, mother of the bride, wore a cocoa brown crepe dress with rust accessories. The groom’s mother, Mrs. Herman, wore a black crepe dress trimmed with rhinestone and black accessories. Both wore a corsage of white carnations.

A reception and dinner were held at the Wonder Hotel at Rhinelander. About two hundred guests attended the reception.

The out of town guests attending the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Herman Jeanne, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Misfeldt and Tommy, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Herman and Tryla, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Bogumill and Bill, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Polnaszek, Geraldine and Richie, Mr. Duane Jacques, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Schmidt and Alvinia, all of Thorp, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kowieski and family of Chicago.

The bride and groom will reside at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri where the groom is stationed, serving in the U.S. Army.

The groom is a graduate of the Thorp High School and attended Superior State Teachers College.
