Pietenpol, Joanne Ruth (Marriage - 31 March 1951)

Miss Joanne Ruth Pietenpol daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Pietenpol of 287 S. Clay Street became the bride of Richard George Tibbett, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Tibbett of Neillsville, at a ceremony performed at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church on March 31 at nine o’clock. Father John J. Pritzl officiated at the double ring ceremony.

The bride who was given in marriage by her father wore the traditional white satin. It was fashioned with a long train and a fitted bodice trimmed with lace and seed pearls. Her finger tip veil fell from a beaded tiara. She carried a bridal bouquet of one dozen calla lilies.

Her matron of honor was Patricia Tibbett, with Shirley Lazotte and Laura Lee Rosekrans as bridesmaids. They were dressed in identical gowns of yellow orchid and green taffeta respectively. They carried bouquets of yellow daffodils and carnations.

The groom was attended by James Haas as best man and Glen Lazotte and Karl Peterson as groomsmen. Danny Pietenpol brother of the bride, acted as ring bearer, and Nancy Lou Pietenpol was her sister’s flower girl.

Following the wedding a bridal dinner was held at the Merchants Hotel for approximately 20 guests. A reception was held at the bride’s home in the afternoon. The young couple is on a honeymoon in southern Wisconsin, and will make their home on East 4th Street on their return.

The bride and groom are graduates of the Neillsville High School with the class of ’50. The groom attended River Falls State Teachers College and is employed in Neillsville. The bride is employed at the district attorney’s office in the courthouse.

Guests from out of town attending the ceremony included Mr. and Mrs. Roland Wegner and family of Madison, Charles Leland and Joe Leland and daughters of Eau Claire.
