Decker, Patricia Elizabeth (Marriage - 15 July 1961)

Miss Patricia Elizabeth Decker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Decker of Colby, and James Raymond Baumgartner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Baumgartner of Colby, Wisconsin were united in marriage Saturday, July 15, 1961, in St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby, Wis., Rev. James Stauber officiating at the nuptial mass.

The bride was attired in a floor-length bridal gown of chantilly lace and tulle. The scalloped sweetheart neckline was trimmed with sequins and pearls and featured long sleeves coming to a point over the wrists. The full hoop skirt over taffeta had all around ruffles of lace and tulle and featured a tuxedo front. Her fingertip veil was held in place by a crown of pearls and crystal. Her cascade bouquet consisted of red roses and pompons.

Her attendants - Mrs. Vernon Baumgartner, matron of honor, and the bridesmaids, Mrs. Harold Baumgartner and Miss Darlene Feind - wore identical ballerina length formals of silk organza in Nile green, featuring a scoop neckline and three-quarter sleeves of lace with lace insert coming to a "V" on the bodice in front and back. The full gathered skirts over taffeta had hem and bow trim at the waistline. All three wore matching headpieces, crowns trimmed with pearls and featuring face veils. They carried colonial bouquets of pink and white carnations.

The groom was attended by Vernon Baumgartner, Harold Baumgartner and Larry Decker. Ushers were Delmar Pieper and Donald Baumgartner.

The bride’s mother wore a dress of pink lace over taffeta. Her corsage consisted of pink and white carnations. The groom’s mother wore a dress of blue lace over taffeta. Her bouquet consisted of blue and white carnations.

Dinner was served for the immediate families at St. Mary’s auditorium and 125 persons were served supper at the same auditorium. In the evening, a wedding dance was held at the Sportsmen’s Park, Colby, Wis.

After a wedding trip to Niagara Falls and Canada, the couple will be at home at 314 North Second Street, Colby, Wis. The groom is employed by the Packaging Corporation of America.
