Diercks, Chester H. (18 FEB 1928 - 6 NOV 2013)
Chester H. Diercks, 85, went home to his beloved wife, LaDona on Wednesday, 
November 6, 2013 at House of the Dove, Marshfield, after a long hard battle with 
Alzheimer's. 
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Rembs 
Funeral Home, Marshfield. Interment will take place in Columbia Cemetery, Town 
of Hewett, Clark County. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday 
from 11:00 am until service time at Rembs Funeral Home. 
Chester was born on February 18, 1928 in Illinois, the son of Carl and Viva 
(Kier) Diercks. His father was a farmer and eventually settled in Neillsville, 
Wisconsin. Chester was involved in many different sports and theater throughout 
his school years. He was a 1946 graduate of Neillsville High School. 
He married LaDona Lightfoot on July 22, 1950. She died on September 3, 1983. 
The Diercks built a home west of the Silver Dome Ballroom in Neillsville where 
they resided for many years. Chester worked as a mechanic, electrician and 
welder. He was also the bouncer at the Silver Dome for many years. He played 
softball as a pitcher for local teams. He was a member of the Wisconsin National 
Guard for over 40 years retiring as Sergeant First Class. Chester and LaDona 
moved to the Stevens Point area in 1972 where he worked at Steel King from which 
he retired. 
He is survived by his four children, Cindy (LaVern) Masanz of Marshfield, Terry 
Reich of Las Vegas, Sherry Woytasik of Stevens Point, and Craig (Cheryl) Diercks 
of Neillsville. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 
and 3 great great-grandchildren. 
He is further survived by a brother, Eugene (Wahnita) Diercks of Vesper, a 
sister, Shirley Poeschell of Mondovi, and a sister-in-law, Florence (Roland) 
Diercks of Illinois. 
He was predeceased by his Wife, LaDona, his parents, a brother, Roland, 2 
sisters, Ruby in infancy, and Janet McMilland and a great grandson. 
The family extends sincere thanks to Pine Ridge Alzheimer's Care Unit and Clark 
County Health Care Center for the many years of loving care for Dad.
