Koerner, Oscar C. (9 Sept. 1906 - 1 Feb. 1962)

Oscar C. Koerner of Abbotsford, Wisconsin died last week Thursday at 5:30 P.M. at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital at the age of 55 years. Funeral services were held at the First United Church of Christ in Colby Sunday afternoon, Rev. Carl Serr officiating and burial will be made in the Abbotsford cemetery.

Mr. Koerner was born in the town of Mayville, Clark county, on September 9, 1906, and received his education in local schools. He was married on July 13, 1928, in Colby to the former Dorothy Untiedt. He farmed in the Dorchester area and also was a stock buyer for Oscar Mayer Company in Abbotsford, Wis. In 1936, he retired from farming and moved to the city of Abbotsford but continued as buyer for Oscar Mayer Company.

He was a director of the State Conservation Department, an active member of the Abbotsford Sportsmen’s Club and was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Colby, Wis.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Carl (Betty) Bloom of West Bend and Mrs. Dennis (Carol) Feind of Abbotsford; a son, Donald, of Dorchester; eight grand children; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Triester of Milwaukee, Mrs. Donald (Anna) Trowbridge of Milladore and Mrs. George (Ella) Uhlig of Pittsville. A sister, Helen, preceded him in death.
