Zimbal, Albert (3 Mar. 1878 - 15 Feb. 1962)

Albert Zimbal died at the age of 83 years at his home in Colby, Wis. last Thursday at 9:45 P.M. Funeral services were held in Zion Lutheran church in Colby Sunday afternoon, Rev. Walter Krueger, pastor of the Trinity Lutheran church in Spencer, officiating, and burial was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were Harold Merwin, Morris Mantor, Harry Zrutskie, Walter Fischer, James P. Wilde, Sr., George Sterzinger.

Mr. Zimbal was born on March 3, 1878, in Sheboygan county where he was married in 1905 to the former Anna Marquardt. He operated a farm in the town of Holton until 1947 when he retired and moved to Colby, Wis. His wife died in 1944.

At one time he was supervisor for the town of Holton, was a county board member and served on the school board.

Surviving are a son, Alfred, of Schofield; a daughter, Miss Meta Zimbal of Colby; two grand children; two great grand children; a sister, Mrs. Joseph Heer of Sheboygan and two brothers, Herbert and Walter Zimbal of Merrill. Four brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Out-of-town people here for the funeral were Alfred Zimbal of Wausau, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Krings of Wisconsin Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Zimbal, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Zimbal, Mr. and Mrs. Gravin Hankwitz and son, Stephen, all of Merrill, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Truchinski of Vesper, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wagner and daughter, Judy, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Hass and Mr. and Mrs. Morris Thompson of Abbotsford, Wis.
