Carl, Eileen (Marriage - 7 September 1951)

Miss Eileen Carl of Eau Claire, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gust Carl, became the bride of Robert C. Berg of Eau Claire, son of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Berg, of Phillips at a ceremony performed at the Pine Valley Lutheran Church on Friday, September 7, at three o’clock.

Vows were said before an altar banked with baskets of gladiolus. The Rev. Leonard Domke performed the double ring ceremony. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was dressed in a plum colored tailored suit. Her corsage was an orchid surrounded by yellow roses.

Miss Florence Carl, a sister of the bride, who was maid of honor, wore a green tailored suit with a corsage of red roses.

Louis Berg of Independence, Wis. a brother of the groom, acted as best man. The processional was played by Mrs. Kenneth Dux.

Following the ceremony a reception for 75 guests was held at the Legion Memorial Hall.

The young couple spent several days on a honeymoon trip to Wisconsin Dells, after which they will make their home in Columbus, Ga.

The bride was graduated from the Neillsville High School with the class of ’46 and has been employed in Eau Claire for some time. The groom is a graduate of the Phillips High School and is stationed at Lawson air base at Ft. Benning, Ga.

Persons from out of town attending the wedding included Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Carl and son, Larry, of Nekoosa, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Carl and Margery of Greenwood, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Berg of Independence, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Berg of Marshfield, Arthur Berg of Wisconsin Rapids, Conrad Berg of Phillips, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Weaver, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Berg of Nekoosa, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Hadden, Ben Hancock, Annabelle Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wrigglesworth, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Spinell, all of Eau Claire, Mary Reichling of Greenwood, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Rockwood, St. Paul, and Miss Viola Gotter of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
