Hubert, Arlan W. (28 APR 1925 - 4 MAR 2009)

Arlan W. Hubert, 83, Oregon, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at Hospice Care. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, March 7, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Oregon. The Rev. Paul Markquart presided.

Arlan W. Hubert was born on April 28, 1925, in Greenwood, to William and Anna (nee Bauch) Hubert. He graduated from Greenwood High School in 1944. He was drafted by the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. He married Phyllis Shutter on Nov. 4, 1950, in Tomah. He worked at Wisconsin Power & Light for 35 years until retirement, He and his wife started Hubert Trailer Sales Inc. in Oregon, in 1965. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. He was a pilot and enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing. They were world travelers, including flying on the Concord.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis, Oregon; two sons, Steven (Lynn) Hubert, Oregon, and Scott (Tracy) Hubert, Oregon; and grandchildren, Christopher (Natasha) Hubert, Jennifer Hubert, Matthew (Kelly) Hubert, Nicholas Hubert, and Sam Hubert.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters, Erna Zagrodnik and Esther Zubke; two brothers, Arnold Hubert and Alvin Hubert; two brothers-in-law, Tony Zagrodnik and Leo Zubke; and sister-in-law, Edna Hubert.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church or HospiceCare Inc.

A light from our household is gone, a voice we love is stilled. A place is vacant in our hearts that never can be filled.
