Mitzlaff, Louis (25 June 1879 - 14 Dec. 1941)

Louis Mitzlaff, 62, of the Town of Holton, died of a stroke at his home Sunday afternoon at 2:45 o’clock.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at two o’clock from Christ Lutheran Church in Abbotsford, and burial will be made in the Town of Holton cemetery. The Rev. John Brandt, Dorchester, will officiate.

The body will lie in state at the Fuchsgruber Funeral Home, Dorchester, until the time of the services.

Mr. Mitzlaff was born June 25, 1879, in the Town of Holton and resided there as a farmer until his death. He was married to Miss Elsie Schmidt of Stetsonville and was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church of Abbotsford, Wis.

Surviving him are his wife and the following children: Miss Adeline Mitzlaff, Milwaukee; Mrs. Reuben (LaVerne) Platteter and Mrs. Jack (Geraldine) Gebert, Stetsonville; and Mrs. Chris (Beatrice) Jensen, Dorchester, Wis.

Nine grandchildren also survive him.

Funeral services for Louis Mitzlaff who died at his home in the Town of Holton, December 14, were conducted Thursday afternoon by the Rev. J. Brandt.

At the home services, a hymn was sung by the ladies who carried the floral offerings: Mrs. Hans Amacher, Mrs. Vane Gokey, Mrs. Clarence Gosse, Mrs. Chester Knight, Mrs. Walter Kuenzi, and Mrs. Arnold Laack.

The pallbearers were: Walter Boss, Edward Hoeft, Henry Jacobi, Anton Kramer, Fred Meske and Frank Schultz.

After the two o’clock services in Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, interment was made in the Town of Holton cemetery.

Surviving Mr. Mitzlaff are his widow and four daughters: Miss Adeline Mitzlaff, Milwaukee; Mrs. Reuben Platteter and Mrs. George Gebert of Stetsonville; and Mrs. Chris Jensen, Dorchester, Wis.

There is one sister: Mrs. Emma White, Washington, D.C., and two brothers, George Mitzlaff, Milwaukee and Charles Mitzlaff, Wausau. There are also nine grandchildren.

Stahnke, Whittlesey; Mr. and Mrs. Emil Weitzman, Mr. and Mrs. Theo. Schmidt, Mr. Robert Schmidt, Mr. and Mrs. George Gebert, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Beilfuss, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Schmidt, Harold Weitzman, Mr. and Mrs. George Platteter, and Charles Stahnke, all of Stetsonville.
