Happli, Kenneth J. (13 APR 1928 - 4 NOV 2013)

Kenneth J. Happli, 85, Marathon, died Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, at Marathon Assisted Living, under the care of Interim Hospice and Palliative Care.

He was born April 13, 1928, in the town of Green Valley, son of the late John and Elizabeth (Maguire) Happli.

For many years, Ken drove truck and hauled milk for Alex Karlen Trucking, Ewald Weinkauf Trucking, Ray Beilke Trucking, Roger Bergs Trucking and Zastrow Trucking. He also worked for Marathon Electric in Wausau, until his retirement.

Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed attending draft horse shows and horse pulls. Ken had the ability to strike up a conversation and share stories with anyone and truly loved visiting with people. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include three children, Sandy (Gary) Utecht, Marathon, Randy (Joy) Happli, Wausau, and Jean (Dennis) Weisenberger, Marathon; nine grandchildren, Nicole (Brian) Dulak, Brad (Jessi) Utecht, Melissa (Lowell) Heise, Andy (Debbie) Happli, Brian (Nakia) Happli, Trish Happli, Wendi (Ryan) Gerlach, Chad (Ashley) Weisenberger and Lee (Ashley Schmidt) Weisenberger; 14 great-grandchildren, Alexis, Brenna, Mason, Dane, Trever, Brody, David, Markel, Elmer, Gabriel, Jordan, Desirae, Hugh and Cole; two sisters-in-law, Isy Happli and Marlene Happli, both of Mosinee; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Don, Jimmy and Jack Happli; and one infant sister, Mary Jean Happli.

Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon. Deacon Leroy Knauf will preside. Friends may call on Saturday from noon until time of services at the funeral home.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Ann and the staff at Marathon Assisted Living for the wonderful care and support given to Ken and his family.
