Krucker, Verna (Marriage - 24 Oct. 1942)

At high noon on Saturday, marriage vows were exchanged between Miss Verna Krucker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Krucker, of Unity, and Clarence Schultz, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Schultz, of Abbotsford, Wis. The Rev. J. Brandt read the marriage service in Christ Evangelical church.

For the occasion, the bride chose a white brocaded taffeta gown, trimmed with two floral ornaments from her mother’s bridal gown. She also wore a necklace of pearls which belonged to her mother. The short veil was fastened to a tiara of flowers and rhinestones. The bride carried an all white bouquet of pompons.

Attending her were Miss Lucille Schultz, sister of the groom, as maid of honor; Mrs. Carl Fischer, Colby, another sister of the groom and Mrs. Earl Krucker of Sturgeon Bay, sister-in-law of the bride. They wore taffeta gowns of aqua, blue and peach, respectively, with ornamental braid and flowers to match their frocks in their hair.

Wallace Schultz was best man for his brother. The ushers were Carl Fischer and Earl Krucker.

Following the ceremony a 1:00 o’clock dinner for the bridal party was held at the Hotel Fayette in Medford. A reception was held at the home of the groom’s parents and supper for 50 guests was served. A large wedding cake topped by a miniature bride and groom, was the center piece for the bridal table.

Later a wedding dance was held at Wiedenhoeft’s pavilion.

Mr. and Mrs. Schultz are at home on a farm four miles east and two miles south of Colby, Wis.

Among the guests at the wedding included: Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Novak and daughter, Rae Jene, Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Friemund and family, Stratford; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Fischer and family, Roland Haase, William Fischer, Miss Rose Marie Gierl, Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schmeltzer, Cherokee; William Uhlrich, Rochester, Minn.; Orville Miller, Mayville; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Krucker, Sturgeon Bay; Mrs. Arthur Jensen and family, Dorchester; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Bolt and son, Unity; Miss Myrtle Schultz, Bernard Sheridan and Leslie Pike, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Steve Kovac, Mrs. Leonard Werner and son, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Riehle and family and Harry Van Rooy, of Abbotsford, Wis.
