Decker, Theodore (14 Jan. 1887 - 11 Feb. 1944)

A requiem High Mass was read at 9:30 o’clock Tuesday morning at St. Louis’ Catholic church, Dorchester, for Theodore Decker, 57, who died at 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11 at his home in the town of Mayville, following a four week’s illness.

The Rev. P. T. Weller officiated at the services and burial took place in Memorial cemetery, Dorchester, Wis.

Mr. Decker was born Jan. 14, 1887, at Appleton, and was married Feb. 4, 1909, to Josephine Britten. He resided on the present farm since purchasing it in April, 1913.

A member of the Holy Name Society and Catholic Order of Forrester, Mr. Decker is survived by his wife and eight children, Urban Decker, town of Mayville; Mrs. Clarence (Maria) Ellenbecker, Athens; Mrs. Al (Veronica) Carlborn and Mrs. Gerald (Leona) Donahue, Milwaukee; Sylvester Decker, Menominee, Mich., and Cyril, Lucille, and Exilda Decker, at home. Another daughter, Hildegard, died.

Also surviving are nine grand-children; two brothers, William Decker, Athens; and Peter Decker, Spokane, Wash.; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Ullman, Watertown, N.Y., and Mrs. William (Elizabeth) Schumacher, of Dorchester, Wis. Two brothers, George and Nick, are dead, and two brothers and one sister died in infancy.

Pallbearers were Joseph Geiger, Martin Heindl, Frank Stoiber, Anton Younker, and Max and Herman Wilke.
