Berger, Eva Marie (Marriage - 22 Feb. 1944)

Miss Eva Marie Berger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Berger, became the bride of Leon Beyerl, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Ruesch, town of Colby, Tuesday morning. The Rev. Leo Lang read the marriage service at 9:00 o’clock, preceding the nuptial high mass in St. Mary’s church at Colby, Wis.

For the occasion, the bride wore a gown of white celanese rayon with lace inserts in the full train. A line of rosettes of seed pearls trimmed the front of the bodice which was fashioned with a sweetheart neck line. The long sleeves ended in points over the wrist. A lace bordered veil with lace inserts fell from a seed pearl tiara to the end of the long train of the gown. She carried a bouquet of pink roses, white carnations and sweet peas tied with a large bow. A gold locket was worn by the bride and also by her only attendant, Miss Dolores Beyerl, sister of the groom.

The bridesmaid wore a frock of pink celanese rayon with a white embroidered design. It was made with a sweetheart neck line, full, short sleeves and a very full skirt. A pink veil with a floral head dress and a wrist corsage of pink roses completed her ensemble.

Martin Jacobs of Indianapolis was best man.

A wedding dinner and reception for the immediate family was held at the Reusch home. The bridal cake and candles formed the center piece at the table and a pink and white color scheme was used in the home decorations.

The young couple left on a wedding trip to Indianapolis and after March 1, will be at home on a farm near Auburndale.

The bride is a graduate of the Abbotsford high school with the class of 1942. She also attended Central State Teachers’ College at Stevens Point.
