Mrs. John Topdahl returned to Wilson, Monday afternoon, after spending the week end at the E. N. Jacobson home.

Melvin Bender, Wausau, stopped here to visit his parents, Wednesday evening, enroute to a cheese makers’ meeting at Marshfield.

Henry Wiese left Tuesday night for Merrimac where he is employed.

Ronald Reeves left Wednesday afternoon for Wausau after returning that morning from Milwaukee where he went for physical examination for the army.

Mr. and Mrs. William Krueger, of Wausau, spent Wednesday afternoon and evening here with relatives and friends.

The John Anderson family has moved from the Staples farm west of Abbotsford, to the Franz farm, east of town. The children are attending the Abbotsford school.

Mr. and Mrs. William Bogaard left Wednesday morning for Boscobel to visit their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Simerson.

Lee Holliday has purchased the Bogaard tavern and building. Formal opening under the new proprietor was held, Wednesday evening.

Lawrence Van Dreel, Marshfield, visited with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Van Dreel, Tuesday evening.

Mrs. Andrew Lieders and Mrs. Ed Scheibe returned from Minneapolis and St. Paul, Saturday morning, after spending several weeks with relatives there.

The Catholic Ladies’ Altar society met at the home of Mrs. George Orth, Wednesday afternoon. Attendance prizes went to Mrs. Carl Morrow and Mrs. Anna Kipp, a guest from Ingram. Hostesses were Mrs. Orth, Mrs. John Kadonsky, Mrs. Alfred Swoboda, Mrs. Joe Hopfensperger, Mrs. George Pupp and Mrs. William Pupp.

Mrs. Louis Mauritz returned from Chicago, Wednesday morning, after a week’s visit with Mr. and Mrs. Miles Mauritz and family.

The fire department answered a call shortly after 12 o’clock, Friday noon. A fire on the roof of the house which is being remodeled by H. K. Christensen, just east of his home on Highway 29, was the cause for the alarm. There was insurance on the building.

Miss Lucille Krueger is employed in Wausau.

Henry Ziebarth and son, Erwin, of Milwaukee, spent the week end at their home here.

Mr. and Mrs. Lester Lewis and daughter, of Burbank, Calif., came Sunday to visit his father, S. J. Lewis. On Wednesday, Mrs. Lewis and *** Note: The remainder of this article was missing.
