Slocomb, George Frederick (14 February 1904 - 22 November 1951)

George Frederick Slocomb, 47, died early Thanksgiving morning at his home in Arcadia, Calif., of a heart attack. He had returned to his home on Saturday from the hospital after an attack six weeks ago.

Born February 14, 1904, in the Town of Grant, Clark County, to the late Austin and Frederica Slocomb, he later went to North Dakota with his family. His mother died in 1909. From North Dakota he went to southern Minnesota where he farmed until 10 years ago, when he moved to California. He had been with the Lockheed Air Craft Plant at Burbank, Calif. ever since.

He leaves his wife, Dorothy, son Keith, nine and daughter Nancy, five. He also leaves three sisters, Mrs. Lydia Barton, of Redondo Beach, Calif., Mrs. Lettie Devine, Hermosa Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Caddie Broers, Currie, Minn.; and five brothers, Charles and Austin of Beach, N. D., Ernest of Redondo Beach, Calif., Orlin of Cresell, Ore., and Herlin of Seattle, Wash.

Services were held Wednesday evening, November 28, at the Glasser and Miller Chapel in arcadia, Calif., Rev. Barnard of the Presbyterian Church of Arcadia, where he was a member, conducted the service. The body will be temporarily buried here until spring when it will be shipped to southern Minnesota for burial.

His parents and two sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.
