Schorer, Joyce (Marriage 28 July 1945)

Miss Joyce Schorer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Schorer of the town of Hull, became the bride of Charles Ohlinger, son of Bert Ohlinger, of Abbotsford, in a double ring ceremony in St. Mary’s Catholic church, at Colby, Saturday morning at 9:00 o’clock. The Rev. Francis Bienkowski officiated at the marriage and celebrated the nuptial high mass.

The couple was attended by Miss Alberta Ohlinger, sister of the groom, Miss Grace Schorer, the bride’s sister, Miss Marion Dallman, Raymond Kunze, Hubert Apfelbeck and Orville Frick.

The bride’s white satin gown was fashioned with long train, cowl neck line and long sleeves. Her veil was fastened to a rhinestone tiara and she wore a pearl necklace, gift of the groom, and carried a bouquet of pink and white carnations.

Miss Ohlinger and Miss Dallman wore identical gowns of blue rayon designed with shirred bodices and full net skirts. They completed their costumes with matching blusher veils and flowered tiaras. Miss Schorer, as junior bridesmaid, wore a similar frock in pink, and a matching headdress. All wore wrist bouquets of pink and white carnations.

Following the wedding, dinner was served to more than 100 guests at the home of the bride’s parents, decorated with cut garden flowers and pink, white and blue streamers centered with a large wedding bell.

A wedding dance was held in the evening at Wiedenhoeft’s park.

The groom is engaged in farming in the town of Hull.
