Carlson, Olga M. (Marriage - 21 Nov. 1945)

Wearing a white satin wedding gown inserted with lace and a finger tip veil of illusion, Miss Olga M. Carlson, daughter of Mrs. Martha Carlson, of Spicer, Minn., became the bride of George W. Gerth, Paynesville, Minn., a former Abbotsford resident. The double ring ceremony was read at the First Lutheran church at Litchfield, Minn., Nov. 21, at 5:15 p.m., with the Rev. A. F. Franzeen officiating.

The bride carried an arm bouquet of pink roses and white mums and her pearl necklace was a gift of the groom.

Attendants were Sgt. Chester Carlson, Sioux Falls, S.D., and Cpl. Chester Carlson, Honolulu, H.I., brothers of the bride, Mrs. J. H. Franklin, Chicago, Ill., a cousin of the groom, and Georgiann Carlson, Minneapolis, Minn., a cousin of the bride.

Mrs. Franklin wore a gold satin formal frock and carried pink and white mums while Miss Carlson was attired in yellow chiffon and held orchid and white mums.

Following the candlelight service a reception was held at the Luther League hall at Litchfield for members of the immediate families.

After Dec. 1, when Mr. and Mrs. Gerth return from a wedding trip spent in Iowa and South Dakota, they will be at home to friends on route 2, near Paynesville.

The bride is a native of Minnesota and has been teaching school for the past 14 years. Mr. Gerth was graduated from the Abbotsford high school.
