Krizan, Margaret Alice (30 June 1924 - 26 March 2009)

Margaret A. Krizan, age 84, of Sheldon, WI, died at Camilia Rose Care Center in Coon Rapids, MN, on Thursday, March 26, 2009.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at Epiphany Lutheran Church in Stanley. Rev. Daniel Welch officiated and burial followed in the Donald Cemetery. Margaret’s sons served as pallbearers. Visitation was held at the church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

Margaret Alice Terry was born on June 30, 1924, in Crystal River, FL, the daughter of John and Emma (Adkins) Terry. She was raised and received her education in Crystal River, where she played on the high school girls’ basketball team, and graduated from Crystal River High School in 1942. While growing up in Crystal River, Margaret grew to love swimming and diving, which she later passed on to her children. After completing her education, she worked at a dime store in Tampa, where she met a gentleman by the name of Michael Krizan. She was united in marriage to Michael Krizan on February 1, 1943, in Conway, SC. After his discharge from the service, they started their family on a small dairy farm in Donald, WI, where they lived until retiring in 1991. They moved to Boyd, WI and lived there until moving to Thorp, WI, in 1998. Shortly after her husband’s death on May 5, 2004, Margaret moved to Minnesota. She resided in Minnesota until the time of her death.

Margaret was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Stanley; a past member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheldon, where she was active in the Ladies Aide and Altar Guild; and had many interests, but especially loved spending time with her family; arts & crafts, including crocheting, painting, and ceramics; gardening; picking berries; baking and cooking.

She will be dearly missed by her 12 children and their loved ones; 25 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; Michael; one granddaughter, Kara Reynolds; one great-grandson, Adrian Krizan; one brother, Virgil Terry and one sister, Thelma Sassard.
