Friimaki, Anna (14 APR 1883 - 5 JAN 1951)

Funeral services were conducted at two o’clock Tuesday afternoon from the Griebenow Funeral Parlors for An Friimaki, 67, of Lake Forest Academy, who died at 1:40 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, 1951 in Lake Forest Hospital, Lake Forest, Ill. Burial was made at Riverside Cemetery. She had been in ill health since last summer.

Pallbearers were Gust Sillampa, Solomon Laakso, Sander Varjonen, Otto Santala, Emil Niemi and Hjalmer Leino.

Born in Vilkkila, Virolahti, Finland, April 14, 1883, Mrs. Friimaki moved to Waukegan, Ill., in 1907. She was married to Charles Friimaki in Waukegan on Sept. 15, 1909.

She and her husband moved to this community (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.) and operated a farm near here for several years. The past few years they have lived at Sand Lake, near Hayward, Wis., during the summer months and worked at Lake Forest Academy during the winter.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Friimaki is survived by a son, Wilho, who lives here; a daughter, Mrs. Irma Jablonic, also of Owen; a sister, Mrs. Tilda Putii, still living in Finland; two brothers, Eric and Santeri Karell, who are also living in Finland; and six grandchildren. A brother, Emil Karell, died in Finland last September.
