Robertsen, Clara (18 SEP 1876 - 20? JAN 1951)

Clara Gehrke Robertsen was born on Sept. 18, 1876 in Germany. She came to America when a child of nine years of age. On April 14, 1909 she was united in marriage. Her husband preceded her in death nine years ago.

She and her family were pioneer residents of the Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) community, having resided on a farm in the Town of Hixon for 47 years.

Surviving her are two sisters, Lena Holcomb of Polebridge, Mont.; and Tillie Freistedt, Chicago, Ill.; three brothers, ernest and Louis Gehrke, Withee and Edward of Cornell; two sons, Ervin of Withee and Earl of Owen; and five daughters, Mrs. Frank (Myrtle) Arndt, Owen; Mrs. Pete (Pauline) Steger, Withee; Mae of Washington; Mrs. Clara Ellendorf and Elsie of Stanley and Mrs. Stasko.

Funeral services were conducted at two o’clock yesterday afternoon, Jan. 24, from the Griebenow Funeral Home (Owen, Wisconsin). J. Johnson officiated and burial was made at Riverside Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Wallace Wood, Charles Ryll, Henry Fisse, Jack Softer, Henry Wojner and Donovan Ward.
