Miss Mae L. Moore, grand daughter of Mrs. George Barker, and Loren Bates, of Ames, Iowa, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Bates, exchanged marriage vows, Wednesday evening, March 6. The Rev. G. E. Griffiths read the service at the Barker home at 9:00 o’clock in the presence of the immediate families and a few friends.

The bride wore a two piece wool suit of navy blue with white accessories and a corsage of roses and gardenias.

Attending the couple were Dr. and Mrs. J. A. Rilling. Mrs. Rilling wore a black wool dress with white accessories and a corsage of roses and freizia.

Following the ceremonies a wedding supper was served. Flowers and lighted candles formed a center piece on the table.

The bride has been employed at the Home Bakery after she was graduated from the Abbotsford high school with the class of 1944.

The groom recently received his honorable discharge from the service. He served as a radio operator on a B-24 in the South Pacific and was in the service 32 months. He has the Air medal with three oak leaf clusters, four battle stars and the Philippines Liberation ribbon.
