Albert, Hulda #2 (23 JUL 1876 - 9 JUL 1951)

One of Withee’s (Clark Co., Wis.) pioneer and highly respected residents, Mrs. Theodore Albert, succumbed to a heart attack early Monday morning, July 9th, 1951, at her home and passed quietly away into eternity. She had been a citizen of the village for nearly 50 years, during which time she gained the loved and adoration of all who knew her. She was a tireless worker in her home and the community, being especially active in the Royal Neighbor Lodge and the Methodist Church.

The deceased was born on July 23, 1876 at New Holstein, Wis. and married Theodore Albert at New Holstein on Aug. 2, 1894.

She is survived by her husband, a brother, Henry Herberg of Sheboygan Falls; four daughters, Mrs. Harry Thorson, Withee; Mrs. Alice Herlin, Milwaukee, Mrs. Carl Repogle, Waupaca and Mrs. Henry Afrank, Garibaldi, Oregon; and two sons, Edgar and Clinton of Withee; twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The Rev. Leland Shaw conducted the funeral from Griebenow’s Funeral Home on July 12. Bonnie and Harriet Marking sang vocal selections. The pallbearers were Herbert Haire, Minneapolis; Roland Haire, Lucius Bowen, Shurleigh Grimes and Gordon Thorson, Owen, and Capt. Marvin Thorson, St. Paul, Minn.

Those attending the funeral from away included William, Clarence and Helen Ohr, and Mrs. Calvin Wagenblast of Hammond, Ind.; Mr. and Mrs. Kinsley Hollenbeck, New Holstein; Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Albert, Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kee, Pittsville; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Albert, Mrs. Martha Albert and daughters, all of Vesper; Mrs. Emma Quamann, Stanley; Mrs. Nell Albert, Thorp, and Mrs. Marvin Thorson, St. Paul; Carl Repogle, Mrs. Bud Jensen and Reva Repogle of Waupaca, Wis.; besides a host of friends from surrounding communities.

Those in charge of flowers included Natalie Scherf, Mrs. Vic Nielsen, Mrs. James Christensen, Mrs. Art Stewart, Mrs. Don Hawks and Mrs. Myron Fritsch.
