Erdman, Joyce E. #2 (15 SEP 1951)

Miss Joyce Elaine Erdman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Erdman, Colby, became the bride of Harold Degenhardt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Degenhardt, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), Saturday, Sept. 15, 1951, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Green Grove.

Rev. Paul Dietz read the nuptial services at 1:00 o’clock as the bride was given in marriage by her father. Mrs. Paul Woik played the wedding march from Lohengrin, and also accompanied her daughter, Bernice Miller, who sang "O Perfect Love" and "Jesus Lead Thou On."

The bride approached the altar attired in an entrained satin gown featuring a yoke of marquisette with a satin and lace ruffle. Her fingertip veil was secured to a headdress of orange blossoms and she carried a bridal bouquet of mixed flowers.

Serving her sister as maid of honor was Miss Pearl Erdman. Miss Delores Poznanski, Greenwood, Lucille Augustine, Colby, and Arlene Erdman, Hillsboro, cousin of the bride, were bridesmaids. All were gowned alike in costumes of pink, green, orchid, and gold satin, respectively, and carried sprays of gladioli and dahlias.

The two little flower girls were Sharon Glenzer and Myra Augustine, Colby, who wore white satin dresses.

Mr. Eugene Glenzer, Whittlesey, the bride’s uncle, acted as best man, and Galard Fakes, Owen, the bride’s cousin, and Galen Erdman, brother of the bride, were groomsmen.

The bride’s mother witnessed the occasion in a plum colored dress accented with black accessories, and wore a corsage of mixed flowers.

The couple were honored at a reception at 4 p.m. at the Curtiss Community Hall and a dance was held in the evening at Walter’s Pavilion, Colby, Wis.

The bride is a graduate of Colby High School with the class of 1949 and was formerly employed as a waitress. The groom, who served in the U. S. Army, is employed at the Clover Hill Cheese Factory, Curtiss, where the couple will make their future home.

Guests attending the wedding came from Hillsboro, Holcombe, Milwaukee, Marshfield, Greenwood, Whittlesey, Goodrich, Curtiss, Loyal, Wausau and Owen.
