Stuve, Mary (SEP 1951)

The Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, decorated with flowers and ferns, provided the setting for the candlelight service when John W. Potts, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Potts of Bertram, Minn., took Mary Elizabeth Stuve, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Stuve of Owen (Clark Co., Wis., to be his bride. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. L. L. Gillette of Loyal.

Preceding the ceremony Janet Stuve, sister of the bride, sang "Love Never Faileth," with Mrs. H. D. Wagner accompanying. Before entering the aisle on the arm of her father, the groom sang "Because" to his waiting bride.

After repeating their vows, the couple knelt for the Consecration Prayer, after which they sang "Savior Like a Shepherd Lead Us."

The bride chose a gown of white satin with lace yoke and sleeves. A fingertip veil and tiara of stephanotis provided her headdress. She carried a heart-shaped bouquet of yellow roses with streamers of stephanotis. Her maid of honor, Arlyne Arp, was dressed in aqua and carried a crescent bouquet of aqua and white glads with matching headdress.

The groom and best man, Paul Stuve, brother of the bride, wore grey and blue business suits, respectively.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the community hall for over 100 guests. Out of town guests were from Wis. Rapids, Humbird, Lyal, Nekoosa, Eau Claire, Birchwood, Chetek, Superior, Wis., Lake City, Palisade, Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minn., and Wessington Springs, S.D.

The bride is a graduate of the Owen High School and Wessington Springs Jr. College of Wessington Springs, S.D. The groom is a graduate of Wessington Springs High School and Jr. College.

The newlyweds are now on a honeymoon in Northern Minnesota. After returning they will make their home in Birchwood, Wis., where the groom is employed.
