Oelrich, Dorothy Elizabeth (19 Dec. 1923 - 9 Jan. 1998)

Spencer, Wis. - Dorothy Elizabeth Oelrich, 74, Spencer, Wisconsin, died Jan. 9, 1998, at St. Joseph’s Hospital Hospice Home House of the Dove.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Christ the King Catholic Church in Spencer. Burial will be in West Spencer Cemetery. Father Charles Stoetzel will officiate.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Sunday at Community Funeral Home in Spencer.

Dorothy was born Dec. 19, 1923, in Stratford to Arthur and Marie (Kieffer) Wix. She was a 1941 graduate of Stratford High School.

She married Elmer Oelrich Oct. 1, 1949 at St. James Catholic Church in Wausau. He died March 13, 1995.

She worked at Parks Accounting and Gene’s Furniture, both in Marshfield, before her retirement. She was also an election worker for the town of Spencer.

She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.

She is survived by her children, Mary (Mike Rolling) Oelrich of Schofield, Lou Ann (Doug) Mellenthin of Spencer, Patricia (Terry) Schiller of Pittsville and Frank (Rose) Oelrich of Marathon; four grandsons, Freddy and Billy Schiller and Neil and Evan Oelrich; two granddaughters, Bobbi Schiller and Janna Oelrich.

Four brothers, Henry (Selvina) Wix of Wausau, Jerome (Gen) Wix of Rudolph, Walter Wix of Wausau and Arthur Wix of Wausau; and one sister, Margie (Ed) Ahles, of Tomahawk.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, Richard Wix.

Memorials may be given to St. Joseph’s Hospital Hospice Home House of the Dove or Christ the King Catholic Church.

Although our time with her was unexpectedly cut short, many special memories of her will be kept in our hearts.
