Schofield, Almeria #4 (2 JUN 1846 - 11 DEC 1908)

Died, Mrs. Robert Schofield at Prescott, Arizona, Dec. 11, 1908, aged 62 years, 5 months and 8 days.

Almeria A. Burt was born at Potsdam, N.Y., on June 12, 1846. In 1869 she came with her parents to Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.),a dn in the year following she was united in marriage to Robert Schofield. For several years Mr. and Mrs. Schofield lived just north of Neillsville, later removing to Greenwood where they made their home for many years. In 1905, Mrs. Schofield went to Arizona in the hope of improving her health, and there she died.

Mrs. Schofield was a lady of the highest intelligence, musical talent and sincere friendship. She was endowed with a philanthropic disposition, and at various times her kindly acts were of untold benefit to young people whose opportunities in life and capabilities needed but the assistance of a nature such as was hers. She was personally known to most of the early settlers of this county, all of whom sincerely mourn her demise. She leaves three children, Dr. High of Greenwood, Mrs. Gracia Morrison of Prescott, Ariz. And Mrs. Victor Pierrelee of Ashland. The funeral was held at Greenwood last Wednesday.
