Olsen, Augusta (23 Aug. 1871 - 21 June 1947)

 

After a 1:30 service at the Olsen home, Tuesday afternoon, the body of Mrs. J. P. Olsen, who died Saturday, was taken to Christ Lutheran church, where the Rev. F. H. Sprengler conducted services at 2:00 o’clock, in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends. The Misses Inez and Bernadine Gust and Dorothy Kieser sang, "The Lord’s Prayer," and "Asleep in Jesus."

Internment followed in the Abbotsford cemetery.

The pallbearers were Edwin Hoeft, Emil Hoeft, Herman Vircks, H. J. Amacher, Walter Kuenzi and Clarence Gosse.

Those acting as flower girls were Janet Orth, Janet Frome, Yvonne Fricke, Ila Mae Emling, Jean Feit and Shirley Larson.

Mrs. Olsen was born Augusta Tesmer, at Forestville, Door county, Aug. 23, 1871, and was married at Colby, April 23, 1891, to John P. Olsen, Abbotsford, who died Oct. 17, 1934. She received her education at Forestville and lived in Abbotsford since she was married.

Mrs. Olsen had been in ill health a long time and death came at her home Saturday afternoon at 3:00 o’clock.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Julia) Emling, Loyal; Mrs. Edward (Edith) Feit, Unity; and Laura, at home; four grand children and two great grand children.

Two sisters, Mrs. John Pribnow and Mrs. Conrad Orth, of Colby, and two brothers, Paul Tesmer, Colby, and Herman Tesmer, Neillsville, also survive. Word was received that a sister, Mrs. William Dahlke, Portland, Oregon, died on Sunday. Four brothers and a sister preceded them in death.
