Witt, Alexander L. #4 (13 JUN 1894 - 23 JUN 1945)

Alexander L. Witt, son of the late Theodore and Frieda Rika Witt, was born on a farm near Clintonville on June 13, 1894, and died at Abbotsford on June 23, 1945, reaching the age of 51 years and 10 days.

He was united in marriage with Leonora Matthias at Big Falls on Sept. 17, 1917. To this union four children were born: Doris (Mrs. Joe Nidy) of Milwaukee: Julius, at home: Frieda, who is in the WAVES and stationed in New York, and Alice (Mrs. Val Wojner) of Chicago.

Deceased is survived by his wife, three daughters, one son, six grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Martha Schellien of Clintonville, and two brothers, Henry of Tomah and Edwin of Clintonville. His parents and three brothers preceded him in death.

Mr. Witt was in the cheesemaking business a number of years until he moved to Abbotsford four years ago. He leaves many friends and relatives to mourn his departure.

Funeral services were conducted at the Zink funeral home at Abbotsford by the Rev. George Griffiths of Abbotsford, Wis. Interment was made at Clintonville.

Those who attended from away were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Witt of Tomah, Mrs. Lydia Marks and Mrs. Howard Zuehl and children of Milwaukee, Frieda Witt of New York, and Mr. and Mrs. Val Wojner of Chicago.
