Stadler, Ruth Alice (Marriage - 8 Jan. 1949)

Miss Ruth Ann Stadler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Stadler, Marshfield, became the bride, Saturday, Jan. 8, of Wayne Anthony Shookman, Merrill. The Rev. Edmund Cramer officiated at the 9:00 a.m. Nuptial High Mass at the Sacred Heart Catholic church, at Marshfield.

For the double ring ceremony, a white slipper satin gown was worn by the bride. A ninon yoke, outlined with a satin bertha and long, tapering sleeves, fashioned the fitted bodice. Her flowing skirt swept into a chapel train. A tiara of orange blossoms and seed pearls held the bride’s fingertip lace edged veil and she carried a shower bouquet of American Beauty roses, and sweet peas.

Miss Gertrude Stadler was her sister’s only attendant. She was attired in a daffodil yellow gown of net over taffeta, styled identically to that of the bride, and wore a blusher veil. Her bouquet consisted of Talisman roses and white chrysanthemums.

John Stadler, brother of the bride, was best man.

A dinner and reception were held at the home of the bride’s parents.

Mr. Shookman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Shookman, of Abbotsford, is a graduate of Abbotsford high school, and served 42 months as a pilot in the Army Air Forces. He is employed by the Lakeland Electric company, Merrill. Mrs. Shookman is a graduate of Marshfield high school and was employed by Bonded Collectors, Marshfield.

After Jan. 20, the bridal couple will be at home to relatives and friends at 814 Cottage street, Merrill.

Among the out of town guests at the wedding were Mrs. Wayne Shookman and son, Bill, of Abbotsford, Wis.
