Lyons, Lucille (Marriage - 10 Sept. 1949)

 

Miss Lucille Lyons, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Lyons, Black River Falls, became the bride of John Bitter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Bitter, Saturday afternoon, Sept. 10. The Rev. F. H. Sprengler read the marriage service at 2:00 o’clock at the parsonage of St. Peter’s Lutheran church, at Dorchester, Wis.

 

Attending the couple were Miss Betty Lyons, Black River Falls, sister of the bride, and Robert Lundahl, Fond du Lac, a friend of the groom.

 

A grey wool gabardine suit with red accessories were worn by the bride. Her sister wore a grey corduroy suit with red accessories. They both wore corsages of red and white roses.

 

A wedding supper attended by 30 guests was served at the home of the groom’s parents and a reception was held in the evening. At the midnight lunch the bride cut the four tier wedding cake, which had served as a center piece on the bridal table.

Mr. and Mrs. Bitter left on a short honeymoon trip and will be in Abbotsford for the present. Mr. Bitter, who served for 18 months in the navy, is employed by the Hogeson company, of Minneapolis. Before her marriage, the bride was employed at the cafeteria at Black River Falls.

 

Among the guests from away who attended the wedding were Ed Lyons, Roy Harlson, Robert Gerth and Miss Doris Matchet, of Black River Falls; Mrs. Harvey Wilder, Tomah; Mr. and Mrs. Nic Selzner, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Custer and children, Chippewa Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Lester Palmer, Bloomer; and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Lundahl, Fond du Lac.
