Wright, Lois E. (Marriage - 19 Aug. 1950)

Dr. and Mrs. Albert C. Dehn will be at home to friends in Abbotsford about Sept. 1. Their marriage took place Saturday, Aug. 19 at Janesville at a 2:00 o’clock service in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. The Rev. Harrison C. Rex was the officiating clergyman.

The bride, Miss Lois E. Wright, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Wright, Janesville, wore a gown of white nylon tulle with full court train. The pointed basque bodice had a sheer filled yoke and deep bertha of Belgian lace and long sleeves ending in points over the wrist. Her veil of imported illusion fell from an illusion head piece trimmed with braided satin and bugle beads. The bridal bouquet was a fan arrangement of white roses and ribbon streamers.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Attending the bride were Mrs. Harold Schoeberle, Janesville, a cousin, as matron of honor; Miss Joan Dehn, Unity, sister of the groom; Miss Helen Baebler, Chicago; and Miss Betty Raufmann, Oconomowoc. Their gowns were made alike of white velverey over blue taffeta with wide blue sashes and full skirts. They wore heart shaped blue tulle picture hats adorned with a blue rose and blue streamers. White lace mitts completed their attire. They carried bouquets of pink gladioli, white pom pons and blue streamers arranged in a fan shape.

Two small cousins of the bride, Karen and Susan McGill, Janesville, as flower girls, wore blue organdy dresses in princess lines with blue ribbon sashes and ruffle trim, their scalloped and ruffled hems reaching the floor. Little blue organdy hats with blue ribbon streamers, copied from those of the bride’s attendants, and accented with forget-me-not clusters, completed their costumes. They carried pink petals in natural reed open baskets with blue ribbon streamers on them.

William Dehn, of Marshfield, brother of the groom, was best man. Dr. Robert La Du, Wautoma, Dr. William Patton, Madison, classmates of the groom, and James Conway, Janesville, were ushers.

A reception, which was attended by about 250 guests was held at the Vet’s club.

Dr. and Mrs. Dehn left for a short honeymoon to northern Wisconsin.

Dr. Dehn, who is the son of Mrs. E. M. Dehn, Unity, was graduated from the Michigan State College, School of Veterinary Medicine, in June and has been practicing in Abbotsford, Wis.

Following his graduation from Unity High School, Dr. Dehn attended the University of Wisconsin for two years and then served for three years in the European Theatre during World War II, before enrolling in the veterinary college. He holds memberships in Alpha Psi, honorary veterinary fraternity and Phi Kappa Phi, all school honorary fraternity.

Since her graduation from Janesville high school in 1943, the bride has been employed in the office of the Chevrolet Motor Company at Janesville.
