Dolan, Jane M. (Marriage - 22 Apr. 1950)

Miss Jane M. Dolan, daughter of Peter Dolan, became the bride of William Steffen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vern Steffen, of Abbotsford, Saturday morning at 9:00 o’clock at St. Bernard’s Catholic church. The Rev. Raymond Schulz read the double ring marriage ceremony.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her oldest brother, Leonard Dolan, of Chippewa Falls, wore a gown of imported Swiss organdy fashioned with a full skirt, tight bodice and bertha collar. She wore long lace gloves that matched the lace yoke on her dress. A wide band of Alencon lace edged her fingertip veil which fell from a tiara of mock orange blossoms. With her arm bouquet of calla lilies tied with a large satin ribbon, the bride carried a crystal and sterling rosary, the gift of the groom.

Attending her as maid of honor was Miss Vergene Timm, of Milwaukee, a friend and classmate of the bride. She wore a light green organdy gown designed like the bride’s, matching gloves, and a gold and rhinestone necklace and bracelet, the gift of the bride. In her hair she wore pink carnations and carried an arm bouquet of pink carnations and yellow daisies tied with green lace ribbons.

Miss Mary Ruth Urquardt, of Bruce, four year old niece of the bride, was flower girl. She wore a yellow organdy dress and carried a basket of yellow, pink, and white daisies and white sweet peas. She wore pink carnations in her hair.

The groom was attended by his brother, James Steffen. Acting as ushers were Peter Dolan, nephew of the bride, and Wayne Peloquin, both of Chippewa Falls.

The mother of the groom wore a light gray suit with pink and gray accessories and a corsage of pink roses and blue daisies.

Following the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride’s father, where the reception was also held. Dinner for about 40 guests was served at the Sky Lite Club.

For the dinner and the wedding trip the bride wore a wool suit of navy with white checks and navy accessories accented by a corsage of white roses.

Mr. and Mrs. Steffen, both graduates of the Abbotsford high school, class of 1948, will make their home, in Abbotsford after their return home from a week’s honeymoon in southern Wisconsin and Illinois. Mr. Steffen is employed at Steffen Super Service.

Out of town guests at the wedding included Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Dolan and son, Peter, and Wayne Peloquin, Chippewa Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Urquardt, Bruce; Richard Steffen, and the Misses Lois Davis and Joan Rappert, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Robert DeNoble and son, Paul, Elmer DeNoble, Mr. and Mrs. Chester DeNoble, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Greene, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph DeNoble, and Miss Margaret DeNoble, Appleton; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rappert, Menasha; Miss Patricia Dolan, Wausau; and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Krueger and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Steffen, Hortonville.
