Cattanach, Dorothy Faye (27 Oct. 1934 - 3 June 2009)


GRANTON -- Dorothy Cattanach, 74, of Granton died Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at the Memorial Health and Rehabilitation Center in Neillsville.

Dorothy Faye Cattanach was born Oct. 27, 1934, at home in the town of Grant, the daughter of Robert and Anida (Dietrich) Hiles. She was united in marriage Aug. 11, 1956, to Eugene D. Cattanach at the Zion American Evangelical Lutheran Church in the town of Grant.

After they were married, Eugene farmed in the town of Fremont and Dorothy taught business education classes for a few years at the Granton, Pittsville and Loyal school districts and for many years at Marshfield High School. She retired from teaching in the mid 1970s.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene; three children, Evan Cattanach of Granton, Lisa (Dan) Sills of Elk River, Minn., and Lauri (Jeff) Ott of Chili; eight grandchildren and two great-granddaughters; two sisters, Beverly (Don) Suhr of Homewood, Ill., and Gloria (Paul) Spaete of Columbus; and a brother, Walter Hiles of Granton.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Missionary Baptist Church in Greenwood. Interment will be in the town of Grant Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville and from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
