Slocumb (Slocomb), Frederika #2 (22 APR 1866 - 5 NOV 1909)

 

Mrs. Austin Slocumb died Friday at her home at Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), and was buried Sunday afternoon at Pleasant Ridge, Rev. Hendren and Rev. Burrows officiating.  Mrs. Slocumb was born Frederika Lichte on April 22, 1866, near Sheboygan to Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lichte.  She was united in marriage to Austin Slocumb on July 26, 1884 and was the mother of fourteen children, thirteen of whom survive to comfort their father.  The children are: Mrs. Geo. West, Asa, Charles, Lydia, Mattie, Earnest, Caroline, Elga, George, Orlin, Herlin and the baby, Walter.  Mrs. Slocumb is also survived by her father, sister, Mrs. Geo. Howard, brothers Adolph and Fred, and two grandchildren.

 

Mrs. Slocumb lived for many years on the Ridge, the last two years of her life being spent at Loyal.  She was a thoroughly good woman and was energetic and efficient to a high degree.  She had a companionable disposition and was a most excellent wife and mother.
