Nelson, Gostaf (Gustave) #2 (24 JUN 1860 - 18 MAR 1910)

Died - Gostaf Nelson, Friday, March 18th, 1910.  Deceased was born in Sweden on June 24, 1860.  In 1880 Mr. Nelson came to this county and settled in Door County, Wis., two years later coming to Clark County, and had ever since been a resident of the Town of Washburn, where he built up a fine farm.  On Aug. 11, 1883, Mr. Nelson was united in marriage at Black River Falls to Margaretta Katherine Anderson, and to this union seven children were born, all of whom survive with their mother.  Mr. Nelson is also survived by two brothers, Eric, who now resides in Door County, and Dan, who lives in the state of Washington.  Also one sister, Mrs. Maggie Knudson of Sister Bay, Wis.  The children are Albion, Rosa, Arvin, Gertrude, Mable, Lillian and Ralph.

Mr. Nelson was a man of high integrity, and was esteemed among his fellow citizens for his honesty and industry.  Of late years he had been incapacitated by a stroke of paralysis, but even in the face of this affliction maintained his cheerful mien and effort to continue his life as he had begun it.  The funeral was not held until yesterday, in order that his son, Albion, might arrive from Washington to be in attendance.  The funeral was held yesterday morning at the family residence and interment was made in the Neillsville Cemetery under the direction of the Odd Fellows, of which order Mr. Nelson was a respected member.
