Kotecki, Josephine P. (14 December 1930 - 7 June 2009)

 

Josephine P. Kotecki, age 78, of Eau Claire, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 7, 2009, at Sacred Heart Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

 

Josephine was born on December 14, 1930, to the later Peter and Katherine (Strzok) Piwoni in Thorp, Wisconsin.  On October 26, 1952, she married Edward F. Kotecki in Thorp, Wisconsin.  Josephine enjoyed dairy farming with her husband most of her life. She was a member of the Red Hat Society.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy J. (Robin) Kotecki-Riley of Windsor, CA; son, Daniel (Lynn) Kotecki of Brooklyn Park, MN; grandchildren: Jason, Adam, and Samuel Kotecki, Logan, Carson, Savannah and Austin Riley; great-grandchildren: Cameron and Cheyenne Kotecki, Mackenzie Riley; brother, Aloise Piwoni of Tinley park, IL; sisters: Annette Tauscher of New Port Richey, FL, Julia Kendl of Woodruff, WI, Lucille Szemraj of Gilman, WI; sister-in-law of Thorp; brother-in-law, Frank Kotecki of Eau Claire; nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, four sisters and five brothers.

 

A memorial service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 29, 2009, at Evergreen Funeral Home in Eau Claire with the Fr. Edmund Klimek officiating.  Interment was in St. Bernards-Hedwig Cemetery in Thorp. Evergreen Funeral Home and Crematory served the family.
