Ristow, Jane Mary (Marriage - 29 Dec. 1952)  
 

Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Apfelbeck are now at home in Abbotsford, Wis. Their marriage took place Dec. 29 at Holy Name Catholic church, Wausau. The bride, the former Jane Mary Ristow, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Ristow, of Rib Mountain, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Apfelbeck.  
 

The bride was given in marriage by her father, and the double ring ceremony preceded a 9:00 o’clock nuptial high mass, sung by Father Gessier.  
 

For her wedding, the bride wore a gown of white satin with a long train.

The bodice and sleeves were of lace and lace bordered the finger tip veil which was held by a pearl tiara. She carried a shower bouquet of red roses, white carnations and pompons. 
 

The bride’s little three year old sister, Judy Ann, was flower girl, and was dressed exactly like the bride, but carried a small colonial bouquet. 
 

Attending as maid of honor, was another sister, Miss Shirley Ristow, of Wausau, who wore a gown of white net over satin. The bridesmaids were Miss Agnes Apfelbeck, Colby, sister of the groom, and Miss Carol Nielson, Wausau, friend of the bride.  
 

They were dressed alike in frocks of net over taffeta in yellow and light blue, respectively. The three attendants wore matching hats of net accented with pearls. They carried colonial bouquets of red roses and white carnations. 
 

Attending the groom as best man was Ray Mullins, of Wausau, a friend of the groom. The ushers were Jerold Ohlinger, Colby, and John Apfelbeck, home on leave from the navy, both cousins of the groom. The men in the wedding party wore white jackets and black trousers. 
 

Mrs. Ristow, mother of the bride, chose a black dress with white accessories and Mrs. Apfelbeck, mother of the groom, wore a navy blue ensemble with black accessories. Both had corsages of red roses and white carnations.  
 

Vases of red roses and white carnations were used to adorn the altar in the church.  
 

Following the ceremony close relatives joined the bridal party at the home of the bride’s parents. At 1:00 o’clock, a reception, which was attended by about 300 guests, was held at the Youth building in Wausau, where there was dancing throughout the afternoon. In the evening a wedding dance was held at the Rib River ball room.  
 

Guests at the wedding were from Nevada, Chicago, Madison, Merrill, Boyd, Wausau, Colby and Abbotsford, Wis.  
 

Mr. and Mrs. Apfelbeck are residing in the upstairs apartment in the Harry Olson home on North Second Street, which was occupied by the Leighton Webers, who are in Chicago this winter. Mr. Apfelbeck has a milk route for the White House Milk Company.
