Joyce Hildur Karpinski, who was  born April 2, 1924 in Donnybrook, North Dakota, passed away August 1, 2009, in Seattle. She was born to John and Helen Neether.  Joyce went to Aberdeen in 1942 and stayed until 1960, where she worked at the Aberdeen Harbor Plywood Plant.  There she married Ray, her first and only love of 58 years.  Together they moved to Seattle in 1960, where she worked at Boeing, from which she retired after 30 years.  She enjoyed cooking, clamming, flower gardening, dancing, telling jokes and traveling to Alaska to see her brother Dale, where she would go fishing and panning for gold.  They also made yearly trips to North Dakota and Wisconsin.  Joyce and Ray also volunteered at the Senior Center in West Seattle for several years.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Ray; many nieces, nephews and special friends; three sisters: Helen Harmon of Minot, ND, Eileen Niemi of Kent, WA, and Janette Waistell of Seattle, WA; and two brothers: Larry Neether of Federal Way, WA and Al Neether of Eugene, OR.
