Dassler, Alfred (22 Aug. 1894 - 16 July 1953) 
 

Alfred Dassler, 58, of Hika, died July 16, at St. Nicholas hospital, following a three weeks’ illness. He was born Aug. 22, 1894, in the town of Centerville, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Dassler. 
 

In 1925, he was married to Miss Nelsa Franzmeier. In September 1947, he married Mrs. Earl Haltaufderheide. 
 

He is survived by his wife, one son Eugene, of Hilka; his mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. Gust Hintz, of Abbotsford; two step-daughters, Mrs. Darlene Koutnick, Mantitowoc; Mrs. Doris Smogelski, Two Rivers; and three step-grand children. 
 

He was preceded in death by his first wife, his father and a brother, Roland. Mr. Dassler was in the blacksmith business, with his father, at Hika. The firm was operated more recently with the aid of his son, as the Dassler Sales and Service Corporation, Hika. 
 

He was treasurer of the St. John’s Cemetery, Hika, for 25 years. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 18, at 2:00 o’clock, at the Stoltenberg Funeral Chapel, Cleveland. The Rev. Michael Roehrdanz, pastor of the Emanuel United Brethren church, Two Rivers, officiated.
