Walter Roehl, 92, of Granton died Saturday at Memorial Medical Center, Neillsville. 
 

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Grace Lutheran Church, Nasonville. 
 

Visitations will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, at the Buchanan Funeral Home, Neillsville, and from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Walter E. Roehl, 92, of Granton died Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, at Memorial Medical Health and Rehabilitation Center, Neillsville. 
 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Grace Lutheran Church, 11284 Highway 10 West, Nasonville. Pallbearers will be Lowell, Erlin, Everett, Kenneth, Raymond and LaVern Roehl. Burial will be in Town of Lynn Cemetery, Granton. The Rev. Jordan Scott will officiate. 
 

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Buchanan Funeral Home and at 1 p.m. Tuesday until time of the services at the church. 
 

Walter was born March 24, 1917, in the town of Fremont, Clark County, to Herman and Clara (Ackerman) Roehl. He married Verna A. Gaulke April 20, 1940, in Nasonville. 
 

He received his education at Cozy Corner School, Fremont. He worked on the Mississippi Dam in Iowa and did trucking for his brother Glenn. He was an agent for 35 with Seneca-Sigel Insurance Co., and a member of the board of directors. During that time Walter also operated a dairy farm for 37 years until his retirement in 1979. He served on the Maple Grove School board for nine years. 
 

Walter enjoyed deer hunting, dancing, playing cards and casino trips. 
 

Walter is survived by his daughter Janice (Richard) McKearn, Granton; sons Jerald Roehl, Arizona, and Gene Roehl, Granton; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sister, Lila Nelson, Marshfield; brothers, Leo (Verna) Roehl and Carl (Delma) Roehl of Chili; very good friend Irene Tischendorf and many nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends. 
 

He was preceded in death by his wife Verna in 1972, parents, grandson, Gary Roehl, four brothers, Glenn, Russell, Alvin and Harvey, and sisters, Vera Cartensen and Evelyn Roehl.
