Larsen, Kristine #2 (20 JUL 1884 - 20 OCT 1953)

 

Mrs. Emil Larsen, former resident of Owen, was placed in her final resting place at the Riverside Cemetery Friday, Oct. 31, 1953.  Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. from the First congregational Church with the Rev. Arthur Meinhardt officiating.

 

Pallbearers were Einar Jackson, Melvin Bjornstad, Julius Johnson, Albert Bakke, Alfred Erickson and Walter Cattanach.

 

Kristine Larsen was born in Kroderen, Norway July 20, 1884 and came to Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) in 1900.  She was married to Emil Larsen in 1902.  The couple resided in Owen until they moved to Ontonagon, Mich. In 1936, where she resided until the time of her death on Oct. 20, 1953.

 

Surviving are her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Elmer Webber (Martha) of Ontonagon, three sons, Casper of Wausau, Wis., Oscar of Camden, N.J., and Elmer of Towanda, Penn.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, a brother, T. O. Braathen, Devils Lake, N.D., two sister, Kristy Christensen, and Ingeborg, Hilsen of Duluth, Minn., and five sisters and a brother in Norway.

 

The body was at the Allen Cane Funeral Home in Ontonagon, Mich. Where services were conducted on Wednesday afternoon by the Rev. Dean Johnson of Siloah Lutheran Church.  She was then taken to Griebenow Funeral Home at Owen, where Eastern Star Funeral services were held on Thursday evening by members of the Owen Chapter No. 274, of which Mrs. Larsen was a member.

 

Relatives and friends from out of town who attended the services in Owen were her husband, Emil Larsen, Ontonagon, Mich., Mr. Casper Larsen, Wausau, Wis., Oscar Larsen, Camden, N.J.; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Larsen, Towanda, Pa., Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Webber, Ontonagon, Mich; Mrs. Ingeborg Hilsen, Mrs. Ragna Busch and Mrs. Gunda Archambault, all of Duluth, Minn; Mr. C. S. Larsen and Mrs. Harry Hansen of Omaha, Neb.; Mr. and Mrs. George Christiansen and Adolph Iverson of Milwaukee, Wis.; Mrs. Ella Hayden, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Omsted and Miss Vila Clark, Eau Claire, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Meyers, Boyd, Wis.; Clifford E. Larsen, Madison, and a host of friends from Curtiss, Withee, Greenwood, Neillsville.

 

She was a loving mother and a friend to many, and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
