Pope, Shirley (24 OCT 1953)

St. Peter’s Lutheran Church at Dorchester was the scene of a beautiful wedding ceremony when Gerald buss, son of Mrs. Esther buss, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), took as his bride, Miss Shirley Pope, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Pope, Dorchester, at two o’clock, Saturday, Oct. 24th, 1953.

The Rev. Sprengler read the nuptial ceremony as the bride was given in marriage by her father.

For the occasion the bride chose a gown fashioned with lace over white satin having a net yoke, pointed lace inserts into a full net skirt and long pointed sleeves.  She carried a fan shaped bouquet of white roses.

Maid of honor was Sharon Pope, sister of the bride,a nd bridesmaid, Janice Blazer, niece of the groom.  Their gowns were lace over satin bodice with full net skirt with lace bolero and peplum.  Miss Pope’s gown was of French blue while that of Miss Blazer’s was a salmon shade.  They carried fan shaped bouquets of roses, mums and carnations.  Little Carole Blazer, niece of the groom, was flower girl and wore a dress similar in design to that of the bride.

Mr. Buss was attended by Duane Piessig, Withee, as best man, and groomsman, Kayo Pope, Stetsonville.

Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held in the church parlors where the couple received their many friends and guests that attended from Mundelin, Ill., Wausau, Stetsonville, Medford, Milwaukee, Cadott, Stanley, Thorp Withee, Marshfield and Owen.

They are now residing at 12 16 South 12th St., Milwaukee, Wis.
