McMillan, Shirley (3 JUL 1954)

In a ceremony performed at St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church, Owen, on Saturday afternoon at 4 o’clock, Shirley McMillan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Weaver, Owen, and Raymond A. Ammentorp, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ewald Ammentorp, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), were united in marriage, with the Rev. Donald Rhaesa officiating.

The couple were attended by close friends, Mrs. Thorvald Rasmussen, Des Moines, Iowa, and Earl Johnson, Owen.

The bride was attired in an aqua green silk lace full skirted waltz length gown, wearing a matching lace headband, and carried a pink satin muff, adorned with pink roses and aqua carnations.  Her attendant was gowned in pink net over taffeta, with a matching headband and lace mitts, and carried a nosegay of pink and aqua carnations.

Ushers for the occasion were two brothers of the groom, Marvin and James Ammentorp, and a cousin, William Ammentorp, all of Withee.

Buffet lunch was served the wedding party and guests following the service in the church dining room, with an informal reception held in the evening for the couple at the home of the bride’s parents.

The new Mrs. Ammentorp has been employed at the Frederick Post Company, Owen, as a secretary for the past several years, while her husband has been attending the University of Minnesota at Minneapolis, where he will be a senior this fall, and where the couple will be at home to their friends after July 10th.

Guests attended from Minneapolis, Minn., Ogdenburg, N.Y., San Diego, Calif., Stevens Point, Wausau, Madison, Kenosha, Stone Lake, Thorp, Abbotsford and Owen.
