Kellner, Myrtle (Marriage - 29 May 1954)

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Prestebak have returned from a honeymoon trip to southern Wisconsin and Illinois and are now at home to friends on Route 1, Dorchester, on the Reishus farm, which Mr. Prestebak manages.

Their marriage took place Saturday, May 29, at St. Peter’s Lutheran church, Dorchester. The bride, Miss Myrtle Kellner, daughter of Mrs. Helen Kellner, of Dorchester, Route 1, was given in marriage by her god father, Joseph Zugier, to Joseph Prestebak, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carlot Prestebak, of Rock Falls. The double ring service was read by the Rev. F. H. Sprengler at 2:00 o’clock.

During the ceremony, Herbert Juneau sang "The Lord’s Prayer," and "O Promise Me." He also played the wedding marches.

For her wedding, the bride wore a floor length gown of net and lace over satin. Inserts of ruffled tiers of Rose point lace detailed the bouffant skirt. The bodice was designed with long sleeves and stand up collar, and it was trimmed with Rose point lace. She wore a pearl necklace and ear rings, and seed pearls were used to trim the net cap that held the blusher veil. An arrangement of red roses, white carnations and stephanotis made up the shower bouquet.

Attending her as maid of honor was her friend, Miss Edna Monson, of Sheldon, and as bridesmaid, her sister, Mrs. Ray Weidman, of Sturgeon Bay. Their ensembles were identical in design, nile green and orchid, respectively. Their floor length dresses were net over satin with lace bodice, short sleeves and matching lace gauntlets and net head dresses. They carried bouquets of orchid, yellow and white carnations.

Miss Donna Mae Weidman, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Her frock was white net and lace over satin, and a matching head dress was worn. She carried a basket of daisies.

Attending the groom as best man was his brother, Perry Prestebak, of Rock Falls, and Walter Kellner, brother of the bride, of Dorchester.

Billy Eurick, nephew of the bride, of Milwaukee, was page. Acting ushers were Robert Frautschy and Ray Weidman.

For the occasion, the bride’s mother wore a blue and white polka dot dress with white accessories and the groom’s mother had a blue floral print with blue and white accessories. Both had corsages of red roses and white carnations.

Following the ceremony, a 4:00 o’clock supper was served in the church dining room to 150 guests. Later a reception was held at the home of the bride’s mother. Guests were from Rock Falls, Eau Claire, Milwaukee, Sugarbush, Medford, Stetsonville, Curtiss, Sturgeon Bay, Dorchester, Abbotsford, Chicago and Glen Ellyn, Ill.

The bride, a graduate of Taylor County Normal, had attended Central State College, Stevens Point, and teaches in the Abbotsford grade school.

The groom, who was graduated from River Falls State College, was veteran trainer at Abbotsford until that program was completed and then became farm manager at his present location.
